The Bible in 3D"The Bible in 3D" is a method of Bible Study that systematically, and in a safe, controlled environment, utilizes our bodies and imaginations as tools for understanding Scripture. This method is rooted in the Inductive Method of Bible Study, taking our observations and interpretations from ephemeral imagination and trying them out in "three dimensions:" i.e. with our bodies.
Sound exciting? Sound terrifying? Each workshop begins with a few easy group exercises that warm up or re-awaken the special skills we utilize in this method--which most of us left behind in Kindergarten. Those with no performance experience have absolutely no disadvantage. Also, because we approach our text with the ground rules of Inductive Study, those with little or no Bible knowledge are at no disadvantage, nor do Bible scholars have any advantage in most of the discussion. Want to try it? A B3D study can be scaled to a wide variety of situations, from a 1-hour Sunday School class or conference workshop, to a half-day workshop or a 6-week class. It can work with three participants or thirty. I can also instruct a group of leaders in how to lead B3D studies themselves. Contact me to discuss bringing The Bible in 3D to your event. |
Performing ScriptureThe word "perform" is rooted in the meaning, "to fulfill," or "bring to completion."
The Performing Scripture workshop prepares trained and untrained performers to give polished, compelling performances of Bible stories. The Introductory workshop culminates in a monologue generated by the performer, telling a Bible story from the perspective of a person involved in the story itself. Part Two of the workshop culminates in a dramatization of the actual scripture text. The two courses can be taught in tandem or separately, as either a one-or two-week intensive, or once a week over 6 or 12 weeks, and for youth or adults. Contact me if you would like to bring a Performing Scripture workshop to your group. |
